BIGGEST Helicopter In ThE WorLd

These are photographs of the worlds largest helicopter which happened to be on the tarmac in Dease Lake , B.C. this week. It is to be used for taking mining equipment and cargo out to a new mine called Galore Creek. It is owned by a Russian company. It is called the Utsky. The chopper couldn’t land at the air strip at Bob Quinn Lake because it wasn’t a paved area so it had to land in Dease Lake until the landing site north of Bob Quinn could be inspected. Apparently this chopper’s wash will pick up and fling rocks, up to 12 inches in diameter, around like leaves.

Stats Supposedly: Russian crew of 6,2 Pilots, 1 Navigator, 2 Engineers (mechanics), 1 cargo person- you can put 1 dump truck, 1 SUV in it a semi-trailer will fit in it.- carries 75 troops- uses 2000 litres of fuel per hour- 580 km range- costs $30,000/hr to rent - 40 metres long - 8 blades about 2 feet wide - probably bigger than ANYTHING seen at the Dease Lake Airport , including the terminal building.

Portability is part and parcel of any good notebook. Manufacturers had tried over the years to reduce the weight, thickness and size of notebooks just to make it more portable. Intel has come up with their latest wonder and it promises the thinnest notebook the world has ever seen. It is just 0.7 inches thick and weighs 2.25 pounds. It is much thinner than some of the mobiles and PDAs in the market. Although this is just a prototype, there are speculations going on that it might enter the production stage soon this year. Once it is marketed, this notebook will pose a serious threat to other notebook manufacturers like Dell and HP.

Einstein says "newton's out..newton's out....."

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head. She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?" Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."

The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like." Without missing a beat, or loo king up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

Mobile and The Teenage Mind

The word Mobile seems to bring about a rush of adrenaline in many teenagers and the words 'Mobile and the Teenage Mind' seem to bring about the thoughts of peer pressure to every parent. Not to mention a very long phone bill.

Mobile phones have become a part of our lives. They have somehow woven themselves into our thoughts, our actions just like other forms of technology and like most forms of technology, they have mostly affected the teenage crowd. They have attacked the vulnerable adolescent hormones, almost destroyed conventional forms of communication and have totally revolutionized our lives. The effects are positive and negative. Of course, every coin has two sides.

Cell phones have become a necessity. Ads on TV, on how everyone can afford a mobile, seem to pop up every now and then. As a necessity, they are fine. As an addiction, they are not.

To top all the negative effects, recent scientific studies have proven that mobiles adversely affect the brain. But again back to that potentially lethal word-peer pressure. For adolescents, impressing peers is obviously more important than a future full of brain tumours.

Parents should be blamed the most. Today’s world for some reason thinks that money can buy love and consequently spoil their children by gifting them with a new mobile every birthday from age twelve.

Unfortunately, the damage done is too deep to be undone. We can only wait and see what new form of energy comes out to take over the minds and lives of all of us. The world has truly been taken over by little rectangular pieces of plastic and all that we can do is watch.
